WORKSHOP CURRICULUM

MODULE 1: WHAT IS AN A&R

Learn what is an A&R and what role A&R’s play in the music industry as a whole.

A&R is short for “Artists & Repertoire.” While we usually refer to a single person as an A&R rep, the name covers the entire division of a record label or music publishing company that is responsible for finding talent and helping to develop hopeful artists into household names.

MODULE 2: THE BASICS

Learn everything you need to know to get started in music industy.

Here you will understand the different types of projects, Know the key players for a successful studio session, Check off your administrative tasks and Get familiar with the studio layout

MODULE 3: CONCEPTING YOUR PROJECT

Learn how to set goals, think of the creative side and achieve success.

You will be able to Make a plan to start working, Identify your goals, Create a to-do list and release schedule and Plan for your budget.

There’s nothing more exciting than the call that it’s time to begin working on a new project! One of the first parts of the A&R process is preparing to record. But if you’re not prepared, recording can be an expensive process. That’s why I like to plan from the beginning to the end.

MODULE 4: RECORDING/ORGANIZING SESSIONS

Learn the process and tips about recording, organizing and saving the sessions. Get Recording tips, Organizing music and Saving sessions.

Be Prepared Before the Session. Time is valuable and I don’t believe in wasting it for me or for my artists. If you can believe it, sometimes nothing even gets recorded in a session. When that happens, the people going in weren’t prepared and had to spend their time planning what to do. Don’t let them happen to you. Read on for more tips to be prepared.

MODULE 5: PROCESSING PAPERWORKS5

Learn all about the paperwork from concepting to releasing.
